It’s important to give students a chance to interact outside of the classroom and extracurricular activities and organizations are a great way to do that. E.C. Goodwin Technical High School has a wide range of options including everything from student council and National Honor Society to green technology club and robotics team.

E.C. Goodwin students with or without formal music making experience are invited to join the Music Performance Club!
The club meets twice a month after school and focuses on learning musical fundamentals and performing live music.
Singers and Instrumentalists who played in a band or sang in a chorus in middle school or church are strongly encouraged to continue making music by joining this group.
The Music Performance Club typically performs at school functions three or four times per year.
All are welcome!

HOBY is an international organization that promotes leadership skills and networking in high school sophomores. Our vision is to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action, based on effective and compassionate leadership. HOBY’s success is the direct result of its 4,000 national volunteers who plan and execute its programs.
Each year, Goodwin Tech reviews faculty- and staff-selected sophomore nominees to choose a HOBY Ambassador and an alternate. All nominees possess superior leadership potential. The Ambassador qualifies for a three-day series of workshops with business and industry leaders. They also get to network with students from across the state.
The National Honor Society is an organization promoting recognition for students with outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service.
We are always looking for new members. If you have a high school gpa of 85% or more, you have begun the qualifying process. If you are interested and want to learn more about the National Honor Society and what it is, take a look at the slideshow below. If you have any questions, you may contact the recruiting committee officers, Priya Khambholja, Layla Addy, Jonathan Reyes, Kaltuma Mohamed, Maria Caceres, and Ghadha Alhasani. Our emails address are provided in the last slide of the presentation. We hope that you will join next year and have a great summer break!

The Student Council represents the voice of the students in the democratic management of student affairs at Goodwin Tech. It is the organization through which the administration, faculty and staff as well as the student body cooperate in addressing the concerns of the school.
Being involved with the Student Council gives students the opportunity to make an impact on our school environment and in our community through student leadership and good citizenship. Membership in the Student Council is a privilege and responsibility.
Student Council members must:
- Help sustain a positive school environment by maintaining an excellent attendance record.
- Achieve excellence in teaching and learning by earning a grade point average of at least 70%.
- Establish strong community connections by being a positive role model for peers through exemplary conduct in school and in the community.

The Newspaper Club focuses on a monthly publication that sheds more light on E.C. Goodwin, our staff, and students.
The Green Club operates primarily in the Spring and lets students garden and plant new plants within the school courtyard.
Club Day is held every other Tuesday for an hour to start the day. Kids get to go to a club that matches their interest. From RC cars to learning sign language. The staff within our building is leading our students in discovering new interests outside the classroom.
