E.C. Goodwin Tech Culinary Arts Program is First to Receive National Accreditation

The Culinary Arts program at E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain is the first Connecticut Technical High School Culinary Arts program to be awarded with the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Accreditation. The ACF is the largest professional chefs’ organization in North America. The ACF is an organization based on promoting the professional image of American Chefs worldwide through education of culinarians at all levels. Goodwin Culinary earned the 5 year accreditation which is recognized as being a program of distinction.

Chef Marc Hussey, the Culinary Arts Consultant for the CTHSS, said his goal is to have the Culinary Arts programs in all Connecticut Technical High Schools receive ACFEF accreditation within three years. Hussey stated the following benefits of accreditation:

  • Students have access to new ACF scholarships, educational resources, professional networking opportunities and an individual Certification program for future growth.
