Culinary and the CIGNA Holiday Party
December 13, 2018
On December 13th, the EC Goodwin Culinary Students catered a holiday party at CIGNA. Over the previous few weeks the students created about 14 different desserts, totaling about 2500 individual desserts, as well as an assortment of cookies. This process took many hours as well as an intense amount of concentration and focus. The students did an absolutely outstanding job! This was a whole shop effort as all grades worked on creating and producing these desserts. We are very proud of our students! The students who attended the event and served the desserts did an phenomenal job! Every single one of them had some part, whether large or small, in creating these dessert!
This was a great opportunity for our students as they got to see firsthand how a corporate foodservice operation was handled. As you may know CIGNA is a very large company and the CT location has thousands of employees. For breakfast and lunch alone they serve a combined 3000 meals! The food is great quality. They have state of the art kitchen equipment as well as dining/service area; it was fantastic. Our students had a great time and really learned a lot. We look forward to doing it again next year!
