April 2025 Students of the Month

9th grade Student of the Month

9th:

Lilly Jimenez (2 Nominations): Lilly’s progress this year has been truly remarkable. She is one of the most resilient and hard-working students I’ve ever known. She has become a leader in shop and in her academic classes and positive self-advocate, and is lovely to know as a person. Lilly never shies away from a challenge. She sets high standards for herself and often goes above and beyond what is asked of her. She is undoubtedly deserving of this award.   -Ms. Mariano

Lilly demonstrates a positive attitude towards the school and the people in it. She has an outstanding dedication to academics and shop by being here every single day. She is very kind and always seen as a role model to her peers. Lilly has grown in her communication skills by emailing teachers with questions she has on difficult content, and has learned to speak up in class when material needs clarifying. Due to this others around her have picked up on her leadership skills and made improvements themselves. Lilly is a true lead by example. -Ms. Warner

10th Grade Student of the Month

10th:   (Tie)

Hadeel Elfgeeh  I wanted to nominate Hadeel as she has gone above and beyond to show her dedication to Health Tech. She has great attendance and has started spending her own time volunteering at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. She has a great sense of humor, but knows when to put her professionalism hat on. She is a pleasure to have in the Health Tech shop and will be a wonderful addition to the healthcare community.    -Mrs. DeCusati

Roniel Taveras Guzman I’d love to nominate Roniel for Student of the Month. He’s the kind of student who doesn’t seek the spotlight but absolutely deserves it. Always kind, always respectful, and incredibly easy to work with—he’s someone you can count on to bring a calm, positive energy to any group. Whether he’s working quietly on his own or helping a classmate, he shows up every day with humility and a great attitude. He may not ask for recognition, but he’s more than earned it. -Mrs. Marino

11th Grade Student of the Month

11th:

Caleb Colon – Caleb is ranked 7th in the Class of 2026 with a 99 GPA.   Student is currently taking 3 honors courses and has straight A’s for all of his Y1 grades.  Zero discipline and keeps a low profile, despite so much success.  Perhaps not a flashy student, but one with a lot of substance. D’Amato ABSOLUTELY seconds this nominee ! There is No better student example than Caleb, he’s first to volunteer and help with anything in our Plumbing shop ! Future success is written all over him !   – Mr. LYNCH, and Mr. D’Amato

12th Grade Student of the Month

12th:

Elaycha Guzman    Elaycha has shown huge improvement in her engagement in academics and shop.  Elaycha has demonstrated an improved work ethic as she is diligent about completing every work assignment with best effort.  We are so proud of her.  Elaycha is so kind and has a heart of gold!
