Another succesful Blood Drive at EC.

May 21, 2026

The blood drive was a tremendous success! We had an incredible turnout and, for the first time ever, were able to offer Power Red donations. Together, we collected 41 units of blood, saving 123 lives. We also had 13 first-time donors today, which was especially exciting to see!

This drive also held special meaning, as today’s donations were made in honor of my good friend, Nicholas Ciccarelli, who passed away on April 29th. Nick’s life was prolonged because of blood donations, and my family, friends, and I are deeply grateful to everyone who continues to give others the gift of life and precious time with their loved ones.

Additionally, across our 10th, 11th, and 12th grade blood drives this year, we collected a total of 105 units of blood — saving 315 lives! Because of this amazing achievement, our program has earned a $1,500 scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a career in healthcare.

We also want to acknowledge that blood drive days can be disruptive, with students being out of class throughout the day. We truly appreciate the patience, flexibility, and support from our faculty and staff in allowing students to participate in such a meaningful event.

A huge thank you to our administrative team — Mr. Sartoris, Ms. Warrek, and Mr. Z — for their continued support. Thank you to Mr. Barner for keeping us on the top of the daily announcements. Thank you as well to Mr. Amuso and his team for helping keep the shop cool and comfortable throughout the day, and to Trooper Gustafson and the security team for helping keep everyone safe and ensuring the drive ran smoothly.

We would also like to recognize the staff members who donated blood or came down to support the event: Mr. Lynch (our first-ever Power Red donor!), Mr. McCartney, Trooper Gustafson (Power Red donor), Ms. Dunnigan, Ms. Martinchek, and Ms. Nevico.

Thank you all again for your support, generosity, and commitment to helping others.
