Carpentry hands on learning at Mystic!

A few days ago, the sophomores in carpentry took a trip to Mystic Seaport.  The students were able to see the staff restoring wooden ships throughout the shipyard grounds.  They were taught about the various methods and tools used to restore and preserve the boats at the Seaport.  The presenter also explained the process of maintaining and repairing ship damage, as well as the science behind the tools and wood type chosen for each restoration project.
