Gratitude Week

March 31, 2017

The EC Goodwin Student Council will be sponsoring our first ever Gratitude Week April 3rd -7th . We are planning a week of events to promote gratitude and kindness in the building. Each day, we will be practicing gratitude in a different way- for both students and staff. We are hoping to encourage both students and staff to take a moment and reflect on the people and things that we are grateful for. This is an especially difficult time of year, where the days usually start to drag as we are inching towards the finish line! We are hoping that this will help to spread positivity and kindness throughout the building.

The events for student gratitude days are listed below.

We will need your cooperation on TUESDAY during homeroom.

Monday April 3rd – Kindness Tree- we will be placing a large “tree” outside of the café. The “leaves” will be made of sticky notes filled with positive messages. Students will be encourage to take a note to share with other students.

Tuesday April 4th – Chain of Positivity- Students will be given a link to a paper chain in homeroom, and asked to write a positive message or quote. Please make sure you are taking your links out of your mailbox and distributing during homeroom. Student Council members will collect the links from you during the day.

Wednesday April 5th –  Appreciation Station- Students will be able to fill out a notecard during lunch to give to a friend or a teacher that they would like to show gratitude or appreciation to.

Thursday April 6th – Lunch Buddies- Students will be encouraged to sit with a new group at lunch- Student Council members will be in the café making sure no student is sitting alone this day.

Friday April 7th – Random Acts of Kindness day- Student Council members will start a chain of “random acts of kindness.” We are hoping that this will catch on to all students and staff in the building.
